Scientific Writer

Exact Imaging has an exciting opportunity for a Scientific Writer to help make an impact. Reporting to the Manager, Advanced Development and Clinical Research, the Scientific Writer participates in analysis of data from a growing list of top tier global clinical customers of the Exact Imaging diagnostic micro-ultrasound device which enables a whole new level of resolution so urologists are now able to visual areas of interest in the prostate and specifically target biopsies at those areas. They will also prepare manuscripts, reports and presentations based on these data.  The Scientific Writer is also involved in research activities, including advanced engineering projects, literature review, clinical site management, research tool development, and data validation. 

What you’ll be doing:

  • Prepare novel abstracts and manuscripts for submission to major conferences and peer-reviewed journals based on user data
  • Perform analysis activities to generate results for use in abstracts and manuscripts based on user data
  • Collect and review academic literature within the prostate cancer field
  • Aid in clinical trial activities including coordination with clinical sites, procurement and logistics
  • Perform data validation and analysis activities, including the design and testing of custom software to perform automated analysis
  • Prepare graphical reports on data from clinical sites to be used for academic and commercial presentations
  • Work to achieve assigned tasks within the standards required (quality, quantity, time and resources)
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

What you’ll need:

  • Experience with scientific literature review and technical writing
  • Sound understanding of experimental design, and statistics, experience with physiology/clinical data an asset
  • Experience with MATLAB, R, SPSS, or other statistics and data visualization software
  • Sense of urgency, self-motivated, flexible
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Accuracy and strong attention to detail
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 25 lbs/ 10 Kg
  • Positive professional attitude, eager to learn from new and challenging opportunities
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver solid technical solutions
  • Ability to prepare high quality and reliable deliverables while working quickly, calmly, and effectively under pressure from time constraints and deadlines
