Integration Specialist

Exact Imaging has an exciting opportunity for an Integration Specialist to help make an impact. Reporting to the Global Product Manager with dotted-line reporting to VP, Engineering, the Integration Specialist will be the key point of contact for the technical implementation of network-enabled product releases to existing and new customers. This includes but is not limited to integration of FusionVu, Remote Access, and to implement networking solutions at customer sites with multiple ExactVu instruments. The Integration Specialist will be responsible for technical scoping (pre-sale), technical implementation and ongoing support of these network-enabled capabilities. In addition, they will be a key liaison with the Engineering team for product feedback, ongoing product development and as a subject matter expert for new feature development that involves network connectivity. The Integration Specialist will also be responsible for training Exact Imaging’s Commercial Team (Sales, Clinical Applications, and Field Service) and Exact Imaging’s Distributors, including delivering in-person training and developing training and support collaterals. It is estimated that the role will require travel 30 – 40% of the time to North America and, as required, to Europe.

What you’ll be doing:

1) Technical Implementation and Support of FusionVu Installations

  • Support Sales and Clinical Applications with customer site requirements gathering, project plan development, sales quoting, development, delivery and implementation.
  • Work with staff at customer site to develop a customized integration plan
  • Ability to quickly and comprehensively design, configure and test new solutions
  • Writing protocols to assist with key procedures (existing) or to support the rolling-out of new procedures and applications
  • Providing technical assistance and resolution of technical questions and problems relating to FusionVu and PACS installation/integration
  • Assisting local customer IT/PACS department in developing solutions and clearing roadblocks related to the local network – switches, wireless access points, firewalls, VPNs and other computer systems
  • Helping to diagnose operating system issues or application errors and following up with local IT/PACS department to ensure proper resolution of all issues
  • Following up with internal (located in Markham head office) and remote (based out of home offices or the Belgian office) Exact Imaging staff to ensure full resolution of issues
  • Understand and articulate customer needs for planning future product development and product releases
  • Developing reports to analyze common complaints and problems
  • Installing new software updates and/or new applications
  • Remotely accessing hardware or software for clients to diagnose problems, to resolve issues, and to test solutions are implemented correctly
  • Document implementations to ensure there is a well-articulated and documented record of each customer configuration
  • Maintain inventory list for all IT-related software and hardware assets in the field as well as any loaner equipment provided to customers

2) Implementation and Support of Networked ExactVu Installations

  • Implement solutions to enable networking of multiple ExactVu instruments at customer sites, including processes to network instruments to networks and ensure network accessibility to PACS, for example
  • Coordinate with IT/PACS administrators to implement the required solution while respecting IT/network and privacy and security requirements
  • Provide ongoing support for networked ExactVu instruments at a customer site

3) Support for Remote Access Installations

  • Support the scoping/development (Requirements), roll-out and ongoing support of Exact Imaging’s Remote Access project to enable the remote connectivity to and access of ExactVu instrumentation for purposes of gathering data, remote support, remote upgrading of instruments and provision of additional value-add services
  • Support Sales, Clinical Applications, and Clinical Research with customer site requirements gathering, including securing data sharing agreement with customer site
  • Responsible for installation and activation of remote access functionality at all customer sites globally
  • Support local customer IT Administrator with training on remote access
  • Provide technical support for connection/networking issues both during installation and testing as well as on an ongoing basis
  • Providing technical assistance and resolution of technical questions and problems relating to all issues related to Remote Access
  •  Act as a key technical liaison with the 3rd party provider of the Remote Access tool
  •  Travel: Ability to travel 30 - 40% of the time across North America (primarily) and Europe  
    as required
  • Other duties as assigned by Management

What you’ll need:

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in IT and/or computing/networking or Engineering disciplines with computer programming options Certification in relevant IT disciplines are highly recommended
  • Specific training in PACS/DICOM/openHIE /remote access would be preferred
  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant work experience in supporting DICOM integration/PACS systems/ hospital IT / medical imaging-related IT and remote access tools
  • Very good understanding of TCP/IP networks, switches, firewalls and wireless routers
  • Proven track record troubleshooting and solving complex hospital IT/PACS-related problems
  • Experience with remote tools such as Skype, Go to Meeting, and Windows Networking Utilities, TeamViewer, VPNs
  • Proficiency in using general office productivity software (Microsoft Office, etc.) for communication and documentation purposes
  • Demonstrated experience in project planning, project management, and working with vendors
  • Working knowledge of GDPR/HIPAA standards
  • Experience working with ISO 9001/13485 quality standard desirable
  • Very strong Computer Skills and strong problem-solving skills while working in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Ability to effectively troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve PC hardware and software problems
  •  Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written) to help internal and external customers quickly resolve their issues and feel satisfied with the experience
  • Writing Skills to aid in writing and updating protocols and procedures
